First Time at Lekki Arts and Crafts Market + Mini Haul

Thursday, 31 May 2018

Happy hump day loves! I apologize for the long hiatus...where do I even begin? I've been having issues with my phone coupled with exams, the school stress really got to me. I'm currently on a short break in-between semesters and a lot of lulling has been taking place!
While at Sangotedo, I decided to check out Lekki Arts and Crafts Market, at Jakande/Lekki. I've been hearing a lot about it from soo many bloggers here in my city and I fell in love with the cute, African-inspired pieces ranging from accessories to beautiful artwork.  I was searching for a nice straw hat I can take along with me for my forthcoming geological field work with my class later in June, but ended up buying moreee stuff.  Walking through the aisles felt like a dream. However, it was a HASSLE locating and getting into the actual market. Our taxi driver got lost and honestly nearly ticked me off, plus the roads were so ugly and marshy. If you're interested in checking out this market, it'll be helpful to keep in mind that the locals call it 'Bar Beach Market', incase you need to verbally ask for directions.

Without further-a-do let's get on with this tres artsy haul, shall we??

These two pairs of slippers were the most expensive items in this haul. They went for N2500 each after what felt like hours of bargaining with the adamant trader. I've worn the dark brown one so many times already and I love large-button detail on the black one. The leather material feels nice and sturdy, however the adhesive used for holding the sole isn't all that great because it (the sole) nearly came off when I was running errands last week! Talk about embarrassing moment!

Ankara ready-to-wear fashion seems to be huge in Lagos right now. I think it's great! I copped these two vibrant pieces and you wouldn't believe how much they went for! After a long moment of bargaining, I ended up getting these two pieces for N1600..yes together, not each. I also got the pair of shorts for N1000, I was so in love with the pink!

I've already gotten so many compliments on this woven circle bag and you guys on my Instagram loved it! I first saw it in one of beauty and lifestyle blogger, Dimma Umeh's vlogs and I thought it looked so different and cute. I got the hat and circle bag from the same store and both cost me about N2500 together. The hand fan was a throw-in from the place where I got the slippers.
